श्री भगवानुवाच कालोऽस्मि लोकक्षयकृत्प्रवृद्धो लोकान्समाहर्तुमिह प्रवृत्तः। ऋतेऽपि त्वां न भविष्यन्ति सर्वे येऽवस्थिताः प्रत्यनीकेषु योधाः
Transliteration
śhrī-bhagavān uvācha kālo ’smi loka-kṣhaya-kṛit pravṛiddho lokān samāhartum iha pravṛittaḥ ṛite ’pi tvāṁ na bhaviṣhyanti sarve ye ’vasthitāḥ pratyanīkeṣhu yodhāḥ

Translation
Shri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, said: I am Time, the great destroyer of worlds, and I have come here to annihilate all people. With the exception of you, all the soldiers here on both sides will be slain.
Meaning & Commentary
In this profound revelation, Lord Krishna unveils His terrifying and eternal form as 'Kala'—the irresistible force of Time that consumes all creation. By declaring that the warriors are already destroyed by His divine will, Shri Krishna teaches Arjuna that the outcome of the battle is already fixed within the cosmic order. For the seeker, this signifies the necessity of surrendering individual ego and agency to the Supreme Divine. Understanding that Shri Krishna is the ultimate author of beginning and end, the devotee finds liberation from anxiety and the bondage of karma. True peace is attained only when one recognizes that every soul’s journey is held in the compassionate yet absolute grasp of the Lord.
