Meaning & Commentary

In this profound revelation, Bhagwan Shri Krishna declares that His transcendental form cannot be attained through mere mechanical rituals or intellectual efforts. While the Vedas, penance, charity, and sacrifice are noble, they remain secondary to the spontaneous grace of divine love, or 'Bhakti'. Shri Krishna emphasizes that He is not an object to be conquered by human endeavor, but a person to be reached through surrender and pure devotion. By bestowing this vision upon Arjuna, the Supreme Lord demonstrates that access to His absolute reality is granted only to those who possess complete faith and an unalloyed heart. Ultimately, this verse serves as a call for the seeker to transcend ego-driven spirituality and seek the Lord through total self-surrender at His lotus feet.
