कस्माच्च ते न नमेरन्महात्मन् गरीयसे ब्रह्मणोऽप्यादिकर्त्रे। अनन्त देवेश जगन्निवास त्वमक्षरं सदसत्तत्परं यत्

Transliteration

kasmāch cha te na nameran mahātman garīyase brahmaṇo ’py ādi-kartre ananta deveśha jagan-nivāsa tvam akṣharaṁ sad-asat tat paraṁ yat

Translation

And why should they not bow to You, O Great Soul, who are even greater than Brahma, the original creator? O Infinite One, O Lord of the gods, O Abode of the universe, You are the imperishable source, the manifest and the unmanifest, and that which is beyond both, the Supreme Reality.

Meaning & Commentary

In this profound moment, Arjuna recognizes Shri Krishna as the ultimate ontological foundation of all existence. Shri Krishna reveals Himself not merely as a guide, but as the transcendent Truth that exists before time and causality, serving as the very substratum for Brahma and the entire cosmos. By acknowledging Him as both the manifest (Sat) and unmanifest (Asat), Arjuna surrenders his ego to the infinite nature of Shri Krishna, the Supreme Brahman. For the seeker, this realization is the key to liberation; it teaches that devotion to Shri Krishna dissolves the duality of existence. When one perceives the Supreme Lord as the source of everything, the fear of the material world vanishes, and the soul finds eternal rest in His divine embrace.
