Meaning & Commentary

In this profound verse, Bhagwan Shri Krishna reveals that every living soul is an eternal spark of His own divine essence, forever connected to Him. Though trapped within the limitations of material nature, the soul is inherently transcendental and part of the Supreme. Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains that as the soul transmigrates, it carries the sensory apparatus and the mind as the sixth sense to experience the material world. By realizing this eternal connection to Bhagwan Shri Krishna, the seeker can transcend the binding nature of the senses and the mind. Ultimately, this knowledge guides the devotee toward liberation, shifting their identity from the material body back to their true, divine self in the service of Lord Krishna.
