Meaning & Commentary

This verse addresses the profound illusion of individual agency that traps the human soul in the cycle of karma. It teaches that our bodily, mental, and emotional impulses are merely the expression of nature’s fundamental forces, yet our ego insists on claiming ownership of these actions. By recognizing that we are the 'witness' rather than the 'doer,' we begin to dissolve the pride and anxiety associated with success and failure. This psychological shift moves us from a state of rigid personal identification to one of spiritual surrender and flow. Ultimately, it invites us to act without the heavy burden of the ego, aligning ourselves with the divine order of the universe.
