Meaning & Commentary

In this profound instruction, Lord Krishna reveals the mechanical yet sacred discipline required for a seeker to transcend the material realm. By withdrawing the senses from their external objects, the devotee curtails the restless wandering of the mind, anchoring it deeply within the spiritual heart. Shri Krishna teaches that when the life-force is directed toward the higher centers, the practitioner achieves a state of stillness that allows the soul to transcend mortal limitations. This process is not merely a physical technique but a surrender of one’s entire existence into the divine focus of the Supreme Lord. Ultimately, Bhagwan Krishna guides the seeker toward the cessation of worldly distractions, enabling the eternal soul to fix its gaze solely upon His transcendent reality.
