Meaning & Commentary

In this profound revelation, Arjuna witnesses the terrifying aspect of the Vishwarupa, where Shri Krishna displays the inexorable power of Time (Kala) that consumes all material existence. This vision reveals that every soul, regardless of their status or deeds, is already caught within the cosmic play of the Supreme Lord, who is the ultimate source of both creation and dissolution. By showing this, Bhagwan Shri Krishna awakens Arjuna to the truth that his duty is not to be the author of actions, but a surrendered instrument in the Divine Will. For the seeker, this signifies that true liberation begins when one realizes that the mortal body is destined for change, urging the soul to seek refuge in the eternal, unchanging consciousness of Shri Krishna. Ultimately, this passage humbles the ego, teaching that our true existence lies not in our temporary physical form, but in our indestructible connection to the Supreme Lord.
